Are You Drinking Enough Water?

As a Bioenergetic Health Coach, I am constantly asking my clients, Are You Drinking Enough Water? But, unfortunately, most of us go about our day not thinking about how much water we drink or even knowing the right amount of water our Body needs.

Did you know that most of us should take in about 2-5 liters of water daily? Your Body is made up of about 97% Fluid. 20% comes from food, and 3% our Body makes itself, so the rest is up to you! You should try and drink clean, healthy water when at all possible. Bottled water is good, but not all Bottled water is equal; look at the source of the water (where the water originates). You can purchase water filters to help if you have poor water quality at home. Our Body needs water to help with so many processes it performs each day, like digestion, circulation, the transportation of nutrients and oxygen to your cells, and maintaining body temperature, to name a few. The easiest way to find out how much water you should possibly be drinking a day is to take your body weight, then cut that in half, and that’s the number of ounces you should be drinking. For example, if you are 200 lbs., then take half of that, 100 oz. or (3 liters). That seems like a lot, right? But if your body is mostly made up of fluid, then it makes sense. Keep in mind that this is just an estimate, and depending on your physical activity and climate (hot weather), this amount can change. When your Body doesn’t receive enough water, dehydration starts to set in. Here are just a few signs of Short-Term Dehydration: Dry or Sticky mouth, Thirst, Constipation, Headache, Dizziness, Muscle cramps, and low urine output, among others. Keep this in mind, and try drinking a little more water to see if your symptoms improve. Please talk to your medical provider before changing your daily dietary requirements.
